Sabrina Carpenter Lands Comedic TV Role

If you thought that Sabrina Carpenter would be too busy working on her third album to jump back in front of the camera then you’d be wrong, because the singer is officially heading back to TV!

The “Why” singer has landed a supporting role in NBC’s upcoming comedy pilot, So Close, Deadline reports.

So Close is centered around Riley and Kyle, two hopeless romantics who are each at a relationship crossroad, but unaware that the other person lives “so close” (only a few blocks away) and could in fact be their soulmate.

Carpenter, who we last saw in front of the camera (in a non-animated capacity) back in January 2017 when Girl Meets World wrapped, will be playing one of the lead character’s roommates, Jessica. According to Deadline, Jessica is the “sweet and adorable” roommate to Kyle and Sebastian, who is continually “shocking people with the crazy/confusing things that come out of her mouth.”

This will be Carpenter’s first role back in front of the screen since Girl Meets World ended last year. She is, however, still voicing Princess Vivian on Sofia the First and Melissa Chase on Milo Murphy’s Law.

With a new pilot and a new album in the works, Carpenter is already having one awesome year, and we can’t wait to see both finished products.
