CBS has found its newest leading man in Felix Mallard!

Mallard might be a new face to American television, but in Australia he’s been seen on Neighbours (the Australian soap opera) as Ben Kirk since 2014, which coincidentally was his first acting job ever — and his only one for that matter.

Now, Mallard is making his way to the States for CBS’ new comedy pilot from Tim McAuliffe and Austen Earl that has yet to be named. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mallard will be playing a pop star on the untitled pilot project alongside Damon Wayans Jr.

The comedy will focus on a 30-something couple who are tired of their boring lives. Luckily, when they meet an emerging pop star (enter Mallard) they begin to connect with their younger selves and see a different side of who they are as the pop star moves into their suburban household.

Wayans Jr. is set to play Peter, the husband in this scenario, who is an accountant and business manager of the superstar musician Cooper, who is being played by Mallard. When Cooper, who is described as “a sweet, charming small-town kid turned music superstar,” comes to live with Peter and his wife, fun follows.

This untitled pilot has yet to cast Peter’s wife, but wit Mallard’s freshness and Wayans Jr.’s comedic chops, this comedy is sure to be a winner.
