The American Idol reboot just got even better!
As fans already know, American Idol is coming to ABC this month and this time around they are pulling out all the stops. In fact, in addition to a whole new slew of judges (Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie), the reality singing competition just added guest mentors to perform with the contestants, and Lea Michele is on the list.
“It’s official!!! I’m going to be a mentor on this season of @AmericanIdol 😍!!!!! I’m so excited you have NO IDEA! ✨” Michele tweeted on Friday (March 2) after the news was announced.
The Glee alum will join the likes of Colbie Caillat, Andy Grammer, Rachel Platten, Bebe Rexha, Sugarland to sing duets with the top 24 contestants during special event episodes set to air sometime in April.
The other stars joining the contestants on stage are Banners, Aloe Lacc, Bishoop Briggs, Cam, Luis Fonsi, Pat Monahan (from Train) and Allen Stone.
Michele, is clearly just as excited as her fans are, and probably more excited than fans of the show, because she can’t stop posting about it. In fact, she shared a fun throwback photo of her back in the day on the set of the reality series, and it’s too fun.
“#FBF from then to now… so grateful!!!! ❤🙌🏻🙏🏻 @AmericanIdol,” she wrote along with the old snap.
American Idol premieres on March 11, 2018 on ABC, and the celebrity duets episode is set to air in April of this year, so set your DVRs.
