Fox’s upcoming drama pilot Mixtape has found one of its main characters with Revenge alum Madeleine Stowe.
While fans are used to seeing Stowe in a drama series — she was on ABC’s Revenge as Victoria Grayson for four seasons — this role is different, because it has a musical element. According to TV Line, Stowe is set to be a series regular in the “musically-tinged” drama, should it be picked up to series.
Mixtape plans to follow a group of interconnected people living in contemporary Los Angeles, connecting the dots through the music that defines and drives them. When it comes to Stowe’s role, she is reportedly playing Margot.
Margot is an actress, TV Line reported, who chooses how the world sees her through a series of controlled and calculated moves. The downside: it’s exhausting to have to think about your every move so carefully.
Stowe will be joining Callie Hernandez, who has been cast as the lead character Nellie, who has put her artistic aspirations on hold to do her job at an arts college and support her musical boyfriend, when the pilot gets underway filming.
If Mixtape gets through pilot season and into the full-season order spot, it will mark the third music-based series on the network. They already have the ultra-successful Empire, which is in its fourth season, and Star, which is in its second season.
